Join us tomorrow’s KASAMA NIGHT 2013: Art, Community, and Resistance!
Here are all the details:
Pilipino Academic Student Services (PASS) invites you to join the Filipin@ community in a night of music, dance, and spoken word. Filipin@ food will be provided at the event.
KASAMA NIGHT is a fundraiser for PASS’s scholarship for undocumented students. The Bagong Daan, Sikapin Paraan Scholarship is awarded yearly to AB540 students at UC Berkeley. For more information on the scholarship as well as access to the application form, visit http://tinyurl.com/bdsp2014.
However, KASAMA NIGHT also aims to bring the community together in the awareness that each of our struggles is part of a struggle shared by all, and that art can be a method of resistance. PASS strives to continue the project of Kasama Night with the Filipin@ Identity and Decolonization DeCal for Spring 2014, a course on Filipin@ political issues. For more information, visit http://tinyurl.com/fiad2014.
NOTE: Ribbons for relief for survivors of Typhoon Haiyan will be sold at Kasama Night, in addition to raffle tickets whose proceeds will also go to relief efforts in the Philippines coordinated by affiliates of NAFCON (https://www.facebook.com/nafconusa).
